If you want to enjoy the magic of carnival for St Patrick’s Day then head to beautiful Belfast. This street event is an exciting and colourful experience, including traditional and modern music that will be a treat for the whole family. Of course, there’s lots more going on in celebration of Ireland’s Patron Saint. The city is also the starting point for the Rith 2010 – a 1,600 km relay on 9th March, which finishes in Galway city. Thousands take part in the huge run with a specially designed baton, which holds a secret message from Ireland’s President that is to be revealed at the end of the run.
