I wasn’t really raised in the sticks, but there were certainly plenty of farms in my mostly rural area. I have been stopped at a gated road dozens of times and had to get out, open the gate, and then shut it behind me before I could go on. Of course, residential communities use automation optical sensors to accomplish this, but that’s a bad idea when the point is to keep the cows in. Either way, it’s nice to use technology when it’s appropriate; it sure makes life much easier than doing everything the old fashioned way, in my opinion.
