Well, many riders today have outfitted their machines with GPS, hands free cell phones, stereo rigs, or they listen to tunes on their iPod’s which kind of negates the whole solitude, wind in the hair thing. Then during their breaks they pull out their iPad’s to check where the next latte stop will be. I suspect that is what the subject of the article is all about. I’ve been biking for over 35 years and I don’t listen to music, have GPS, and I only carry a phone so if I break down and can’t fix the bike advice on the side of the road I can at least call for help. When I go out I just want to get away from it all and not be plugged in to the world along the way.

I gathered together my small Web team in Hong Kong, and we headed back to work. We took over WSJ.com while our colleagues in New York fled to safety. Thank God no one was hurt. We stayed until about 4 a.m. By that time, the U.S. operation had set up elsewhere.
As a postscript: A year later, an ungrateful replacement executive editor and his trio of sycophants shut down our operation and threw us all out of work. About three years later, he was forced out of his position.

So its always in the Juror’s head and Prof. Dersh makes no formal (or even informal ) errors. He states it like it is. You may want it a different way (indeed Dersh might even want a stronger standard), but he accurately states the standard we have.

Having done business in Egypt, I’d say it couldn’t get much worse than it was under Mubarak, who controlled virtually everything. One of his wife’s companies ripped me off and our Embassy helped but could never get redress from the Egyptian courts (no surprise). And the MB has no sense of economics. If you want to know what a society thinks, look at their grade school textbooks. I assure you few Egyptians learn about free advice markets, free trade, free speech, and especially freedom of religion.
